Emie... I have some questions for you regarding the English English!
What exactly does 'wotcher' mean? Is it like 'how are you' or 'what up'? Is 'Git' pronounced with a soft 'g' or a hard 'g'?
What is 'treacle tart' (I think I spelled that right)? I do know that it is a dessert but what kind of dessert and is it good?
See, this is what I get from reading Harry Potter! Hahaha! I would just like to know what it is exactly I am reading about! (yes I know I am a geek but Potter is just so good!) I am sure I will have more questions in the future!

wotcher or wotcha - is short term for what you doing? It can be used as a greating but oftern follows a greeting. . ."hi, wotcha been up too?" If you listen to people with a strong routed english accent what is oftern pronouced more as Wot, espically if you have a Brummie accent. Git - the g is hard, it's pronouced like grit but without the r. Kinda a generic insult, lazy git, ugly git etc. Really has no offence too it. Treacle tart is a desert. Uses the same pastry type base as normal. And treacle is a dark brown/black liquardy, slow running, glupy subtance, much like honey or golden syrup. I went on google to see if i could get you a picture but I found a website with all (or most of) the recipes in harry potter (including butterbeer!) www.britta.com/hogwarts/recipes.html. I don't ever really remember having treacle tart, i think i have tried treacle and not liked it but I am a very fussy eater (no meat, trying new stuff, 1/2 the drinks in Canada eg. Fruit Punch, Rootbeer. Ummm yeah really fussy)
